The Haat to showcase festive wear at Diwali edition in Kolkata

Business-to-customer shopping fair The Haat will showcase a wide range of fashion and lifestyle brands from across India from October 20 to 22 in Kolkata. The shopping fair aims to promote handcraft products with its Diwali themed edition. 

Naming itself, “East India’s biggest fashion and lifestyle exhibition,” on Facebook, the event aims to be a one-stop-shop for Diwali festive fashion and gift shopping. The Haat will feature product categories including women’s occasion wear, ethnic wear, sarees, jewellery, handbags, accessories, and soft furnishings. Diwali themed goods will also feature including Diya, home décor, lights, and gift items among others. 
 
The event will focus on handmade products to promote Indian craft traditions and the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. Brands scheduled to feature in the event include Akkshay Mita Jewellery, Mesh, Royal Afghan, Three Arrows, Reet- Fashion Meet Soul, Rupal’s Gifts, Shaanvis, Bottlezzz, Emaang, Organic Living, and Rakhi Boutique among others. 

The shopping fair will take place at Kolkata’s Ice Skating Rink and has free entry for shoppers. The event is designed to give up-and-coming and small to medium craft-led brands a platform from which to promote their products and reach new customers to expand their networks around the Kolkata metro area.
