The Body Shop continues to poach its senior managers from French beauty group L’Occitane. Sources told FashionNetwork.com that, after Domenico Trizio and Lionel Thoreau, who joined The Body Shop in 2018 respectively as COO and global brand director, Hugues Laurençon has been hired by the UK-based ethical beauty chain, which was acquired by Brazilian group Natura nearly two years ago.

The Body Shop appointed Laurençon as general manager for France and Benelux.

A Political Science graduate from the University of Bordeaux, Laurençon joined L’Occitane en Provence in July 2008, as manager of the Madrid and Andalusia regions in Spain. He was later appointed retail manager Spain, then France and Benelux, and in 2015 he became the group's retail director.

Laurençon took on his new post in February 2019, replacing Françoise Combis, who was in charge of The Body Shop in France and Benelux since June 2017. Laurençon leads a business operating 130 monobrand stores in France and Benelux, of which 71 in France alone.
