The Body Shop aims to double India business, add 100 stores by end of 2025

The Body Shop aims to double its business in the Indian market by the end of 2025 and add 100 new brick-and-mortar franchise stores to its country total. India has become one of the fastest growing markets for the UK-based beauty and personal care brand.

“We are doubling the India business by end-2025, both in smaller cities as well as metros,” said The Body Shop’s global franchise managing director Qas Qayyum, ET Bureau reported. “India is among our top five markets in terms of annual sales now, which gives us the confidence to push for further growth.” 
 
The Body Shop currently has 200 stores in India and is looking to add 100 more in the coming three years. The business will continue to expand in India with an omni-channel model and aims to tap into the growing middle class and young consumers in both metro and non-metro locations for continued growth. 

The Body Shop retails a wide range of cosmetics, skincare, hair care, and personal care goods. The brand plans to have all of its products as vegan certified by The Vegan Society by 2023 and advertises that it sources its ingredients from ethnical producers around the world. 
 
Globally, The Body Shop operates its stores on a franchise model. In India, the business’ local partner is Quest Retail.
