Tata Neu has ambitious sales targets for first year of operations

Tata Digital’s recently launched comprehensive shopping app Tata Neu reportedly saw sales of around $120 million to $150 million in its first month of operations but sales are expected to accelerate in subsequent months.

Tata Neu has ambitious sales targets and aims to reach between $2 billion and $2.5 billion in gross sales in its first year of operations. The business may not have hit $200 million in sales in its first month but expects sales to pick up this month, anonymous sources told ET Bureau.  

“They are aiming for around $200 million gross sales per month even as the first month they couldn’t hit the target,” an anonymous source told ET Bureau. “But it is expected to accelerate from here on.” 

As well as continuing to expand its product selection, Tata Neu is amping up operations ahead of the Diwali sale season, the main sale season in India and what will be its first major sale event. As part of its preparations for this and wider promotions, Tata Digital has taken the position of the title sponsor of the Indian Premier League and is promoting the Tata Neu app heavily as part of this.
