Tata Group will bring all of its e-commerce businesses under the umbrella of Tata Digital. The retail and industry giant plans to conglomerate its digital businesses to further strengthen its position in the Indian e-commerce market.

Tata Cliq is now under the Tata Digital umbrella - Tata Cliq

Tata Group’s e-commerce businesses including Tata Neu, BigBasket, and Croma will now be part of Tata Digital, Tata Group announced in a regulatory filing, accessed by Indian Retailer. The move will also see Tata’s luxury fashion and lifestyle e-commerce platform Tata Cliq fall under Tata Digital.

Last week, Tata Group had increased its authorised share capital pertaining to Tata Digital by Rs 1,000 crore to total Rs 21,000 crore. The business also moved to infuse Rs 750 crore, according to filings made by the business at the Registrar of Companies. Tata Group had previously expanded the authorised share capital of Tata Digital from Rs 15,000 crore to Rs 20,000 crore.

Tata Group’s goal is to increase its market share in India’s fast growing e-commerce space. The business currently competes with international businesses such as Amazon and Walmart-owned Flipkart as well as Indian business Reliance Industries Limited.

The business launched the Tata Neu shopping app earlier this year to create a simple way to shop its various e-commerce platforms and brands in one place. The app will also expand its hosted brands to include labels run by other companies, according to Tata.
