Purohit has received an offer from a large multi-national business in a non-competing sector to lead its operations in India, an anonymous source close to the matter told ET Bureau. Purohit has not yet made a public comment on the matter.

Purohit first joined Tata Cliq in November 2016. Prior to joining the business, Purohit had gained extensive experience in the e-commerce field, working for Amazon India for two years and then joining digital payments and e-commerce business Paytm as a senior vice president for its payments bank. Purohit is a graduate of Bengaluru’s Indian Institute of Management and has also worked at businesses including Tommy Hilfiger, Madura Garments, and Reliance Brands

Tata Cliq is currently in the process of being integrated with Tata Neu, Tata Group’s ‘super’ app which brings together multiple strands of its business to offer shoppers a wide range of products and services in one place. Tata Neu has been made a subsidiary of Tata Digital and will continue to consolidate the business’ brands into one entity.
