Tahiliani’s latest womenswear and menswear collection, featuring over 100 garments from his eponymous brand’s read-to-wear, bridal wear, and occasion wear lines, launched online with an audience of over 8,000 digital viewers, the brand announced in a press release.

The showcase served as, “a reflection of the designer’s creative vision over the past 25 years,” according to the brand’s press release, and the online event showed the brand embracing the ‘new-normal’.

“The year 2020 has forced us to look inwards,” Tahiliani said about his inspiration for the online fashion show in a press release.

“And some of us have embraced that challenge. Hitting the reset button has been nothing but an act of bravery. Questions, stories, memories, dreams- so many hidden parts of us are now coming to the fore. So with the onset of the new season, it feels like the only thing to celebrate now is you.”

Tahiliani worked with his team over the past three weeks to transform his studio factory’s ‘mood-board room’ into a runway to shoot the collection following social distancing measures. The runway showcase featured accessories by Tahiliani’s line TT Accessories; jewellery by Raaya, J H Jewellers, and Shri Paramani Jewels; carpets from The Carpet Cellar; music by Ma Faiza; choreography by Aparna Bahl; videography by Snapsoul, hair and makeup by Anu Kaushik; and social media operations by Beam & Words.

The bridal wear portion of the showcase featured Tahiliani’s signature opulent embellishments with Chikankari and Mukeish embroidery techniques at the forefront. Fusion wear styles such as jumpsuits also made an appearance and Swarovski crystals added sparkle. Tahiliani’s menswear mixed an understated colour palette with layered textiles and hand-embroidered details.
