Tahiliani showcased his Bloom collection and closed the fashion week with an anonymous ‘non-show-stopper-show-stopper’ who donned a simple ‘work in progress’ white tulle gown paired with a dainty net mask.

Tahiliani commented, “There was no showstopper this time because people are more interested in the muse than the clothes. They don’t care about the collection as much as they care about who wore your garment. So I didn’t want it to be like that.”

The Bloom collection had more than 80 pieces of bridal couture, occasion and festive wear comprising of lehengas, shararas, peplum blouses, concept saris, structured drapes, anarkalis and fusion-style jumpsuits.

The designer added: “Bloom captures the metamorphosis of the Indian bride with a synthesis of different cultures, a reflection of today’s generation. Bloom represents the delicate confluence of artistic traditions and the pragmatism of the times we live in.”

Commenting on his collaboration with Swarovski, Tahiliani added, “We’ve worked with Swarovski since the 90’s. This successful long-term association over the years has witnessed some of the most iconic, luxurious and memorable creations made with crystals from Swarovski. And so, it is an honour once again to collaborate with Swarovski to create magical garments using traditional Indian techniques.”

Commenting on the collection, Vivek Ramabhadran – vice president, Asia South and Africa region at Swarovski Professional added, “With an ever-growing presence in India, Swarovski continues to strengthen its long-term creative collaborations with a focused approach towards fashion couture. We value our partnership with Tarun Tahiliani and over the years have worked closely with him to give vision to his creative design brilliance.”

Designer Amit Aggarwal had opened the India Couture Week (ICW) with his ‘Lumen’ collection on July 22. The India Couture Week is organised annually by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI).
