Tarun Tahiliani’s show will take place on Wednesday 26th at half past nine in the evening at Taj Palace. Speaking of his latest collection, Tahiliani said, “The collection draws inspiration from the frothiness and romance of celestial bodies like stars and constellations. We thought deeply of lightness so Indian brides can enjoy their wedding and dance in their clothes.” In this way, opulence tapered by practicality will be the feel of Tahiliani’s latest offerings.

Being well known for his interior design as much as for his fashion, is it no surprise that Tahiliani stated that he put almost equal effort into the set design for tomorrow’s show as for the looks themselves and the spectacle will also feature “wonderful music.”

Light, wearable designs will feature 3D handiwork and embroidery for his bridal collection and Tahiliani wants his collection to reflect the modern bride’s wedding needs. According to Tahiliani, brides today are “the oxymoron of tradition and technology. They are looking for comfort, a perfect fit and a new lightness” whilst still having luxury garments. Moreover, the pieces are intended to be work more than once and broken up for new styles. Furthermore, in an attempt to push further push the level of craftsmanship in his designs, Tahiliani employed one thousand workers to create his collection, a large number even in couture.

Tarun Tahiliani is from Mumbai but is now based in New Delhi and is well known for both his couture and interior designs. In 1987, Tahiliani opened the first multi-designer boutique in India with his wife. The store, Ensemble, is still around today. Tahiliani launched his own design studio in 1990 and, although creates a range of designs, he is best known for his bridal wear.
