The collection was designed for the, “culturally-rooted yet progressive Indian woman,” according to the brand. Rich hues, nature-inspired prints, and a mix of traditional and fusion style silhouettes presented endless occasion wear options with a few more casual pieces in the mix. Taneira’s showcase featured a runway show and accompanying fashion film, which was broadcast live on the FDCI and Lakme Fashion Week’s respective websites and social media platforms.

“‘The Fusion Edit’ draws its character from the grace of flora and fauna that we find in forests and weaves it into all of its pieces,” the brand said about the collection, Lakme Fashion Week announced on Facebook.

“It’s an ode to circular fashion and is designed with the intent to be used and circulated responsibly before they eventually return safely to the ecosphere.”

Bollywood celebrity Dia Mirza closed the show wearing a rust-hued printed saree with ethnic style blouse and chunky silver choker. Other notable looks included a black lehenga set featuring deep red subtle detailing and sarees featuring aquatic and fish-themed prints.

Taneira retails from its stores across India and online. The brand is currently holding trunk shows across the country to discern locations in which to open new stores.

The FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week ran from March 16 to 22 online and offline. The joint, phygital fashion week was the first-of-its-kind in India.
