TCNS Clothing reports Q1 net profit of Rs 20 crore

Women’s apparel maker TCNS Clothing Company Ltd reported a net profit of Rs 20.47 crore ($2.9 million) for the first quarter as against Rs 20.45 crore it had reported in the corresponding quarter of the last financial year.
 

The company’s sales for the quarter jumped 18 percent to Rs 280 crore from Rs 237 crore it had reported in the year-ago period.
 
TCNS Clothing’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation surged 95 percent at Rs 60 crore from Rs 31 crore it had reported in June 2018.

During the April-June period, TCNS Clothing brands W, Aurelia, and Wishful witnessed a growth of 12 percent, 25 percent, and 38 percent, respectively.
 
The company added five stores each for its brands W and Aurelia, while one Wishful store was opened during the quarter. It closed the quarter with an overall store count of 552 for all its three brands.
 
TCNS Clothing Co Ltd is looking to further strengthen its retail presence in India and plans to add around 70 to 80 stores during the current fiscal year.
