Sva by Sonam and Paras Modi opens in Mumbai

Sva by Sonam and Paras Modi has opened a flagship store on Mumbai’s Marine Drive and launched its first ready to wear line, Arya by Sva.

Sva by Sonam and Paras Modi has relocated its Mumbai store from the Lower Parel district to Marine Drive. The store’s launch party took place on March 8 with Mira Kapoor as the special guest as well as a host of Mumbai celebrities and the store is now open to the public.

The store has been decorated in an Art Deco style with white walls, bright lighting, and a wooden floor. The designs have been sorted by colour which, with blue, pink, and neutral sections of the store among others, creates a strong visual impact. The store specialises in handcrafted wedding ensembles and a wide range of elaborate traditional wear is displayed as a full look on both mannequins and a simple metal rail. As “Sva” means “soul” in Sanskrit, the interior design reflects both the brand’s aesthetics and meaning.

On March 7, Sva by Sonam and Paras Modi launched its first “luxury pret line” called Arya by Sva. According to the brand’s social media, the line, “celebrates a forward and fresh take on Indian aesthetics, maintaining a strong yet youthful, non-prescriptive sartorial statement.” Arya by Sva went on to launch its spring/ summer 2018 collection entitled “Dahlia” on March 9 at Mumbai’s recent Luxury Lifestyle Weekend at Jio Gardens. The line will be available in stores soon.
