The new store opened with a launch party which brought together the metro’s fashion personalities, the brand announced on Facebook. The store has a wide selection of sarees as well as a range of women’s ethnic and fusion wear and a small menswear segment.

The store’s spacious interior is punctuated by pot plants, which add a natural feel. Neutral hued walls and warm lighting evoke a traditional aesthetic which is kept fresh by the angular use of space. The store features seating sections to enable shoppers to browse at their leisure and natural wood furnishings to add a sense of luxury.

“We were so moved by the beautiful weather, the young, vivacious buzz in the air, and the welcoming smiles of everyone who crossed our paths that we knew this was the place to be,” Sujata Biswas said about choosing Bengaluru for a store launch, Indian Retailer Bureau reported. “With Suta, we realise how important a role Bengaluru will play in our story, in sight of the numerous artisanal clusters located in the vicinity of the city and the centuries-old legacy of arts and crafts that this area is the birthplace of.”

Sujata and Taniya Biswas launched Suta, meaning ‘thread’, with the aim of promoting traditional Indian handicraft techniques while modernising classic designs for a diverse audience. The brand specialises in sarees and its designs are intended to mix elegance with wearability, according to the designers.
