Superkicks forays into jewellery with new launch 'Modern Meditation'

Superkicks has forayed into jewellery with its new launch 'Modern Meditation'. The sneaker retailer’s first jewellery line is described as fidget jewellery and is designed to play with the idea of tools to aid meditation. 

Superkicks’ new jewellery line mixes fashion with function. The line is designed by Superkicks and fabricated by jewellery business Zillionaire, Superkicks announced in a press release on October 14. 
 
The designs are made from 0.925 sterling silver and feature a skateboard, record player, spray can, basketball, cassette taps and chunky chain. Each charm in the collection features a moveable part which the wearer can fidget with in the same way someone may use rosary or prayer beads, according to Superkicks. The wheels of the skateboard roll, the turntable on the record player spins, and the basketball spins on its axis. 

“If we told you to wear clothes that people wore in 5000 BC, you'd call us crazy,” Superkicks announced in a press release. “But if you were to meditate, you'd use the same method created in 5000 BC. Rosary beads, simple clothes, incense sticks, performed by the mountains preferably. For today's modern, fast-paced lives, this is far from accessible or even relatable to people. This was the inspiration for Superkicks to create a form of meditation that one can carry with you, and so was born a line of fidget jewellery titled 'Modern Meditation'.”
 
Sangeet Paryani and Nisha Lulla Paryani launched Superkicks as a multi-brand sneaker and streetwear retailer. The business has four brick-and-mortar stores and also retails from its dedicated website.
