Sep 7, 2020
Designer Suneet Varma will showcase a collection digitally for the first time at the Fashion Design Council of India’s online India Couture Week, with Archana Aggarwal jewellery, on September 18.

On day one of the upcoming edition of India Couture Week, Suneet Varma will showcase his latest women’s couture collection, the designer announced on his Facebook page. The showcase will feature jewellery by Archana Aggarwal and, in lieu of a traditional runway show, present the designs with a video showcase.
“Couture is about finesse, it is about fine detailing,” Varma wrote as he announced the collection on his brand’s Facebook page.
“When you see it in a ramp show it is for an immediate moment, that it gets lost beyond a point. But when you have a digital couture week, then you gave to make it simply perfect."
“This collection is very much a part of the Suneet Varma DNA, but this time we have stepped it ahead,” Varma told the FDCI about what he has in store for viewers next Friday.
Varma is know for his intricately embellished sarees and lehengas, use of rich hues, and opulent aesthetics.
The FDCI made the decision to hold India Couture Week online this season, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The fashion week will also feature designers including Gaurav Gupta, JJ Valaya, Anju Modi, Manish Malhotra, and Dolly J, among others.
