Celebrating a return to weddings and gatherings, Suneet Varma left no textile unembellished in his latest couture collection for men and women. Adorning red, pastel, and dark hued ensembles with an array of beads, crystals, and thread-work, Varma gave lehengas, sherwanis, and sarees a regal touch with gold embroidery and silver zardozi.

The fashion film, broadcast across social media, tells the story of a young couple’s wedding and begins with the bride-to-be looking at her engagement party Polaroids before getting ready for the ceremony itself. With transport provided by Mini Cooper, the bride arrives at the ceremony and a party ensues. The film ends with the couple driving off in the Mini to begin their lives together with a sign which reads ‘Just Married’.

India Couture Week runs online until August 29 and is organised by the Fashion Design Council of India in association with the Hindustan Times. Suneet Varma is part of a group of 19 designers featuring in the online event.
