Sukriti & Aakriti showcase 'Neo-Phulkari' collection at Lakme Fashion Week day 4
Designer-duo Sukriti and Aakriti showcased their 'Neo-Phulkari' collection on day 4 of Lakmé Fashion Week digital-first season fluid edition, with actors Aparshakti Khurana and Radhika Madan as showstoppers.
The outfits from the collection were vibrant, colourful and made with an embroidery technique that originated from Punjab called Phulkari, which means ‘flower work’.
The showstoppers Radhika Madan featured in the digital show wearing a colourful lehenga, deep, round neck choli, and dupatta while Aparshakti Khurana featured a look with embroidered bundi kurta and narrow pants.
Commenting on the collection, Sukriti & Aakriti said in a statement: “Neo-Phulkari is a unique spin on the vibrant handicraft and encapsulates regality in the form of relaxed silhouettes that can be taken from runway to reality and are more wearable.”
Aparshakti Khurana added: “LFW has a great vibe as usual. Even if it was virtual, the energy was good and goes without saying, I totally loved meeting designers Sukriti-Akriti and Radhika Madan. Everyone should check out the collection, it’s colourful, it’s vibrant and it’s very festive.”
Bi-annual, Mumbai-based fashion week Lakme Fashion Week went both digital and season-fluid for the first time in response to the coronavirus crisis.
