Sukriti & Aakriti show "Daiquiri Hangover" collection at IBFW

The design duo Sukriti & Aakriti showed their “Daiquiri Hangover” traditional and fusion wear collection at India Beach Fashion Week (IBFW) and featured Evelyn Sharma as a special guest.

Sukriti & Aakriti’s “Daiquiri Hangover” collection featured a number of bridal and trousseau looks in bright hues and there was even a black set in the mix. Tassels and sparkling embellishments were found throughout the collection and there were also some more casual outfits amongst the traditional wear. The Bollywood star Evelyn Sharma closed the show wearing a deep blue, heavily embellished lehenga and was then photographed by Viral Bhayani.

The brand, which is increasingly seen on Bollywood’s female celebrities, was one of the most traditional wear focused at IBFW but the aesthetic was still young and lively in line with the other collections. The brand recently opened in the new multi-brand boutique Colaba Cartel earlier this month in Mumbai after holding an exhibition of their designs in Singapore the month before.

The brand Sukriti & Aakriti was founded by Sukriti and Aakriti Grover who both graduated from Milan’s Istituto Marangoni. Sukriti has a background in costume design for films, having worked on well-known productions such as Dhoom 2, and Aakriti also has a swimwear brand called Flirtitious which she launched five years ago. Their brand is based in New Delhi and also retails from a number of multi-brand designer stores across India such as Ogaan.
