Sugar Cosmetics enters North India, plans to take store count to 1000 by year-end

Sugar Cosmetics has entered the north Indian region with the opening of its first exclusive brand outlet in the city of Gurugram and plans to take its store count to 1000 by end of this year.

The online cosmetic company had entered the brick-and-mortar space with the launch of its first exclusive brand outlet in the city of Kolkata in February this year and since then has been rapidly expanding across India.
 
Sugar Cosmetics had raised around Rs 70 crore ($9.8 million) in January this year to fund its offline expansion plans.

Commenting on the launch and expansion plans, Vineeta Singh, CEO at Sugar Cosmetics in a statement said, “We are overjoyed to announce the launch of our exclusive store in the city of Gurugram. With the opening of this store, Sugar reaches a total of more than 770 retail outlets pan India including exclusive stores, self-operated kiosks, general trade stores and shops-in-shop in channel partners like Lifestyle, Shoppers Stop, Health & Glow, Project Eve and more.”
 
“In the past few years, Sugar Cosmetics has had an accelerated progress in their retail front achieving a revenue growth of 700 percent. With this exhilarated growth rate, we are hoping to touch 1,000 retail outlets by the end of 2019,” she added.
 
Sugar Cosmetics also has a strong online presence with its website and also sells its products across platforms such as Amazon India, Nykaa and others.
