In order to celebrate a range of differently abled models, the show partnered with the G.O.D.S. foundation and the Self Esteem Foundation for Disabled. The fashion show saw a number of women of all ages with disabilities showcase Indian traditional wear on the runway.

Some models used wheelchairs and others crutches but all participating women were able to grace the runway with poise and glamour. The event saw a number of partners come together including the Pirojsha Godrej Foundation, Burns McDonnel, and IDC. Designers that participated as fashion partners included Ssaakshi and Prica Inc. among others.

The event was also a fundraiser for the Society for Dyers and Colourists India and the MBA Foundation which has worked in Mumbai for the past 16 years. The fashion show was choreographed by show director Utsav Dholakia and the designer Archana Kochhar’s designs closed the event.

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) took place on December 3 and the Stride fashion show took place as part of this initiative. The United Nations has observed this event since 1992.
