“Headbands are our nonprofit initiative with the aim to help the women and children of the farmers,” wrote the brand on its social media.

“With every purchase of this headband, we are donating our profits to them as a support to the community and for any of their entrepreneurial activities. It is our way of giving to all those who help us make what we sell.”

The brand’s range of simple headbands come in a variety of colours and retail from its online store.

The brand also retails a range of casual athleisure clothing, as well as garments designed specifically for practicing yoga. T-shirts, leggings, and accessories all feature in an array of bright colours. The brand sources its textiles from the Chetna Organic factory in India, which uses sustainable production methods including eco-friendly textile dyes and adhering to fair trade practices for its employees.

Childhood friends Nirali Mehta and Jeenie Madan launched Stretchery in August 2014 after they took a design course together. Mehta had previously worked in the jewellery industry and Madan had worked exporting Indian dance costumes overseas. The two saw a lack of Indian made activewear and yogawear and sought to fill the gap in the market. The brand is based in New Delhi and San Francisco, in the U.S., and it also retails internationally from its dedicated e-commerce store.
