Sri Lanka’s Footwear & Leather Fair seeks to promote exports

From February 7 to 9, the Sri Lanka Export Development Board will hold its 12th Footwear & Leather Fair in Colombo to promote the country’s leather goods to international businesses, including the Indian market.

The upcoming business-to-business event will take place at the at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo, according to its website. The trade show will feature a wide range of product categories including footwear, leather accessories, travel goods, components and accessories, machinery, raw materials, and other related services. 
 
The trade show will exhibit only “Made in Sri Lanka” finished goods but international businesses can showcase raw materials, machinery, and components.

The trade show aims to attract importers, buyers, traders, designers, wholesalers and agents, brand owners, industrialists, and the general public, according to its website. Along with stalls to showcase products and brands, the event will also feature a designer award ceremony, fashion show, and best stall competition. 
 
The Sri Lanka Export Development Board aims to use the event to promote Sri Lankan leather goods for export to countries including India. The trade show intends to present the country as an ideal sourcing destination due to its strategic location, skilled workforce, well developed infrastructure, and ethical compliance record, according to the organisation.
