Splash Fashions hosts 24 hour shopping event

As demand for increased opening hours continues to rise, ​Splash Fashions held a 24 hour shopping event, the Midnight Shopping Marathon, in their Viviana Mall store on December 3.

The multi-brand fashion outlet has a strong presence in India and recently appointed the Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif as brands ambassadors. In a new publicity move, the brand put on a 24 hour shopping marathon in their Viviana Mall store. The mall is one of the largest in India, located in Thane and founded in 2003.

The Midnight Shopping Marathon allowed customers to shop for a full 24 hours. Shoppers were given the chance to pre-register to skip queues and the first 200 customers also received free gifts. Along with keeping its doors open, Splash Fashions offered 60 percent off all merchandise for the duration of the event. Late night shopping is increasing in popularity in India, especially in malls which also house cinemas and restaurants. Customers increasingly want the opportunity to shop after going for dinner or watching a movie and Splash Fashions was certainly tapping into this trend. With more relaxed licencing in many areas, late night shopping events on the rise.

Splash Fashions is part of the Landmark Group with headquarters in Dubai. The brand was founded in Sharjah in 1993 and currently has over 200 stores in 14 countries worldwide. The brand has been featured in Forbes Arabia’s “Top 40 Arab Brands” list and has won other awards such as a Dubai Lynx Award. Online shopping is currently only available in the Middle East and there are no concrete expansion plans for it as yet.
