Spencer's Retail's CEO Devndra Chawla resigns

Devndra Chawla has resigned from his positions as CEO and managing director of fast moving consumer goods, fashion, and beauty retailer Spencer’s Retail. The resignation was effective from January 20, 2023. 

Spencer’s Retail noted the resignation in a regulatory filing, Indian Retailer Bureau reported. Chawla also resigned from his position as director of the company’s board of directors, also effective from January 20.
 
Chawla has been appointed as CEO of Eversource Capital-promoted shared electric mobility business GreenCell Mobility. Chawla has been hired for his experience in growing customer-focused businesses and will be tasked with leading GreenCell grow into India's leading green surface transport company. In his new role, Chawla will report to GreenCell’s board of directors. 

Previous positions held by Chawla include CEO of Future Consumer Limited and group president for food, FMCG business Future Group. He has also worked as chief operating officer of Walmart India and worked with both with Coca-Cola and Asian Paints.
 
Spencer’s Retail specialises in value fashion and lifestyle products ranging from casual and ethnic wear to makeup to food. The business is part of the RP Sanjiv Goenka Group and recently launched a new retail format named ‘Spencer’s Value Market’.
