Sonam Kapoor makes UK catwalk debut at Asiana Bridal Show

A host of Indian designers showed collections at the Asiana Bridal Show. The event, which took place in Birmingham, UK, saw Bollywood celebrity Sonam Kapoor make her catwalk debut in the country.

Twelve bridal wear designers showed collections on the runway as part of the event including a celebrity runway where Sonam Kapoor made her UK catwalk debut.

Kapoor walked the runway in a glittering silver gown by Tarun Tahiliani as part of the Bibi London showcase by Bibi London, a multi-brand boutique that brings Indian designers to the UK.

Kapoor’s gown featured flowing silver sleeves that resembled waterfalls, nipped in waist, and train.

Other designers that participated in the fashion show included Sharons Couture, Paul Jewellers, Sache Boutique, among others.

The event took place on December 2 and described itself as the largest wedding and fashion show in the Midlands. Theme Weavers Designs showcased its wedding planning services and Spice National showcased its catering. The event was designed to be a one-stop-shop for Asian wedding planning in the Midlands, UK.

Asiana Magazine’s Asiana Bridal Show took place in partnership with the National Motorcycle Museum in association with the Ariana Banqueting Hall. The event’s official makeup partner was Joggy Kang, catwalk sponsors were East Shopping Centre and Green Street, and the TV partner was BritAsia TV.

The next Asiana Bridal show is scheduled for February 3, 2019, in London’s Grosvenor House. Following that, the Asiana Wedding Weekend will take place from February 23 to 24 at Allianz Park in London. Upcoming Birmingham dates are to be confirmed.
