SoleSearch raises Rs 6 crore in first funding round, plans omni-channel expansion

Street culture inspired e-commerce business SoleSearch has raised Rs 6 crore in its first funding round to date. The business plans to use the funds for omni-channel expansion which will include a new shopping app and brick-and-mortar stores.

The funding round saw participation from investors including Venture Catalyst, Cornerstone Sports LLP, and Anthill Ventures among others, SoleSearch announced in a media release on May 2. The business plans to begin its omni-channel expansion from the upcoming financial quarter and plans to open brick-and-mortar outlets to connect with customers. 
 
SoleSearch is a community platform which enables sneaker enthusiasts to trade their footwear. After launching in 2021, the business has diversified and now includes a wide range of limited edition and verified street culture products, according to its website.  

“We have built a robust network of resellers who are experts in understanding the cohort’s needs or demands,” said SoleSearch’s founder and CEO Param Minhas, ET Retail reported. “We are trying to redefine the street culture in India.”
 
The business also plans to expand its workforce in line with its offline and online expansion. By building a larger team, SoleSearch aims to facilitate future growth. India’s streetwear market is growing fast and is expected to maintain double digit annual growth for the foreseeable future, so the industry represents a significant growth opportunity.
