Snapdeal has seen its home category boom during the pandemic - Snapdeal

The steady expansion of its homeware category that Snapdeal had witnessed over the past three years was accelerated by the pandemic, as shoppers staying home invested in ways to make their abodes more stylish and comfortable, ET Bureau reported.

Home linens, including bed sheets, bed covers, pillows, and tablecloths were among product categories which saw a marked increase in sales since the onset of Covid-19 and resulting lockdowns along with religious items for the home.

“Our customers tell us the home has never been more important,” said a Snapdeal spokesperson, ET Retail reported.

“With homes doubling up as their office and workout space, kids' rooms being remodelled to be classrooms, they are comfortable to spend more to make their homes more suitable for the way they are living now.”

Over the past year, Snapdeal responded to increased homeware sales by adding more sellers in the segment.

“We expect to see continued growth in the segment and are working with retailers and manufacturers to ensure a wide variety of affordable choices,” said the Snapdeal spokesperson.
