The products were launched in partnership with Mukhyam Mantri Laghu Kutir Udyog Vikas Board (MMLKUB), an initiative of the Department of Industries and the Jharkhand government.

With this partnership, Snapdeal will help artisans from the state to sell its products across India to its 70 million-strong customer base and will provide all the necessary technical support to them.

Some of the products made by these artisans include fashion accessories like bangles, hair clips, earrings, necklaces, bags that depict the distinctive culture of the region.

Commenting on the partnership, a Snapdeal spokesperson in a statement said, “Jharkhand has high-quality bamboo in abundance. The tribes of this region are also skilled to make aesthetically appealing and functional items for Indian households. We are delighted to bring these fun yet eco-friendly bamboo items on our platform.”

K Ravi Kumar, a Government of Jharkhand official added, "Snapdeal's close connect with buyers from all over the country, including in the smaller cities, is a valuable opportunity to take the indigenous bamboo craft of Jharkhand deeper in India."

Snapdeal has been partnering with various organisations across India to improve the product range on its platform. Currently, Snapdeal claims to have over 200 million products from five lakh sellers list on the platform.
