​E-commerce platform Snapdeal is looking to scale up its technology team and plans to hire around 120 engineers across entry in mid-senior and senior positions.

Snapdeal attributes most of its success to technology and is looking to further invest to improve its technology to enhance customer experience and boost sales.  Technology is an integral part of Snapdeal’s 2.0 strategy and has helped improve customer experience, drive growth besides lowering the cost of operations of the company. The company has been on a hiring spree employing around 150 new team members to strengthen its technology, engineering, product, and design teams in 2018-19.
 
"'Snapdeal 2.0 strategy' (launched in August 2017) has helped driving [a threefold] growth in business volumes, while reducing costs by 90 percent. This resurgence also enabled Snapdeal to become the first e-commerce company in India to become cash flow positive, giving it the freedom to invest its earnings in growing the business," Snapdeal said in a statement

"In the coming months, Snapdeal is looking to hire nearly 120 engineers who will work on various projects in the domains of machine learning, gamification, personalisation, cloud-agnostic production systems, etc," it added.
 
Snapdeal, which is backed by Japan’s SoftBank had managed to narrow its losses during the fiscal year 2017-18 to Rs 613 crore ($84.7 million) from Rs 4,647 crore it had posted during 2016-17 fiscal.
