Snapdeal names Himanshu Chakrawarti as new president

E-commerce platform Snapdeal has named Himanshu Chakrawarti as its company president. He will be responsible for managing growth-related initiatives and the business’ value commerce strategy. 

“We are delighted to welcome Himanshu to the Snapdeal family,” said Snapdeal’s co-founder and COO Rohit Bansal, ET Bureau reported. “He brings an in-depth understanding of value retail and omni-channel distribution operations in India. We look forward to benefiting from his experience and leadership as we collectively continue to build our Bharat-focused, value commerce platform.”
 
“It is a great time to build a contemporary retail ecosystem that celebrates the aspirations and meets the needs of India’s vast value segment and is designed to serve them across both digital and physical channels," said Chakrawarti about his appointment.

Chakrawarti joins Snapdeal following on from his previous position as CEO of Arvind Lifestyle Brands’ value fashion retail chain Unlimited Fashion, where he oversaw everything from pricing to design to strategy. At Unlimited Fashion, Chakrawarti managed the integration of 75 stores with large-scale e-commerce platforms. 
 
Snapdeal also recently named Priyaranjan Kumar as its vice president and business head. The business filed its draft initial public offering papers with market regulator Sebi on December 21.
