Snapdeal has been witnessing a slowdown in business with reduction in both seller and customer base over the last few months. The company is looking at innovative ways to revive its fortunes and hoping this move will help on board new sellers on the platform.

Snapdeal Spokesperson in a statement said, "Seller experience is a key parameter that we track. With this automation, the time taken for seller sign-up will reduce from 28 hours to less than a minute. New sellers can now start their sales on Snapdeal within 10 minutes of sign up."

“As a genuine marketplace, Snapdeal does not hold any inventory or promote its own private labels. By doing this it ensures that all sellers have a level playing on Snapdeal. This latest initiative will speed up the on boarding process for sellers on Snapdeal and will provide new sellers a swift and seamless start to their digital commerce endeavors,” the statement added.

Snapdeal had a net loss of Rs 4,647crore for the 2017 financial year that ended in March last year. It also saw its total income decrease by 12.6 percent to a total of Rs 1,291 crore (approx $194 million).
