Multi-brand e-commerce business Snapdeal has launched a new charitable initiative designed to connect coronavirus patients with potential plasma donors. The platform, named 'Sanjeevani', is designed to be used across India.

Snapdeal is promoting the importance of donating plasma with new platform 'Sanjeevani' - Snapdeal

As many large and small businesses alike work to aid those suffering from Covid-19 and its effects across India, Snapdeal has launched a new platform which is designed to be easy-to-use even in small towns and cities. Sanjeevani, which went live on Monday, is accessible through Snapdeal’s website and mobile app, the Press Trust of India reported.

Both plasma donors and those looking for plasma can register on Sanjeevani and the tool will act as a search engine to link people together who could be a match. People will register with their name and mobile number or email as well as their location, blood type, and whether or not they are Covid-19 positive.

Snapdeal had first launched Sanjeevani for its employees and has now opened up its service to the general public. The business also aims to use the tool for the wider goal of raising awareness about the importance of donating plasma and encouraging people to donate, especially those who have recovered from Covid-19.
