Snapdeal appoints Girish Koppad as vice president, head of technology

E-commerce platform Snapdeal has appointed Girish Koppad as vice president and head of technology. In his new role, Koppad will lead the technology department and spearhead the development of technology and data centres for e-commerce in India.
 

He will also lead the technology team at Snapdeal and help it grow its offerings to customers to further strengthen its base in the value e-commerce segment in India.
 
Commenting on his appointment, Girish Koppad in a statement said: “It's an exciting phase for consumer internet in India and I am looking forward to contributing towards Snapdeal's vision of an e-commerce platform with a distinct focus on value e-commerce, by building products and solutions to best serve millions of customers in India's metros, cities and beyond."

Koppad has more than 20 years of experience in product development and management. He most recently worked as the senior director of engineering for Samsung Electronics.
