Skincare brand Ras receives $1.5 million funding to expand operations

Premium skincare brand Ras has received $1.5 million in funding from US-based venture capital firm Green Frontier Capital, which invests in sustainable businesses, and existing investors. The business will use the funds to expand its direct-to-customer operations.

Ras currently has offices in both Mumbai and Raipur and has increased its hiring activities following the investment to bolster its workforce in both locations, the Economic Times reported. According to the business, Ras has witnessed growth of 300% year-on-year since its launch in 2017.
 
“We are a Made-In-India band that targets a discerning global audience and plan to transform the global beauty industry,” said Ras’ co-founder and CEO Shubhika Jain, ET Tech reported. “GFC understands our vision and mission deeply and we are elated to have them partner with us and be aligned as we continue to scale our growth story.” 

Entrepreneur Sangeeta Jain founded Ras with her daughters Shubhika Jain and Suramya Jain in 2017. The brand creates skincare and personal care products which are infused with botanicals and are designed to offer natural benefits. Ras retails retails its all vegan products from its dedicated e-commerce store as well as on multi-brand platforms Nykaa Flipkart, and Amazon and with a number of hotels and airlines, according to its website.
