Sixth Edition of the Delhi Jewellery and Gem Fair to be held from September 9- 11

The sixth edition of the Delhi Jewellery and Gem Fair (DJGF), hosted by UBM India, will be held at the Pragati Maidan from September 9 to September 11.

The event has consistently been North India’s biggest jewellery trade show and includes jewellers, import and export merchants, and industry associations. Moreover, the event is also supported by the Karol Bagh Jewellers Association, the Delhi Bullion and Jewellers Association, the Delhi Jewellers Association, and the Maliwara Jewellers Association.

This edition of the fair will see 280 exhibitors which is an 80 percent increase from the last event. Exhibitors will comprise wholesalers, retailers, and traders among others and some of the exhibitors confirmed for the event are Gitanjali Jewellery Retail Limited, the Gemmological Institute of America (GIA), Yamuna Diamond, Yash Gold, Solanki Jewellers, and Shilpi Jewels.

Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, UBM India, said of the upcoming event: “Despite a slight slowdown in the jewellery sector after demonetisation and GST rollout, the jewellery industry is expected to register a ten percent growth in the current fiscal, especially during the festive season, that is slated to set in earlier this year. The Delhi Jewellery and Gem Fair, just prior to the season will act as a ready reckoner for trends, innovations, and insights, and help the industry take advantage of this growth.” 

The DJGF will also host the third edition of the Retail Jewellers Guild awards to recognise individuals and organisations in the Indian jewellery retail business. Ernst & Young are partners for the awards show and some of the categories will include “Excellence in Customer Service” and “Store of the Year”. A “Walk of Fame” jewellery showcase will also be put on as well as entertaining and networking sessions.
