Sitapura Gems and Jewellery Industry Association holds tree plantation drives
The Sitapura Gems and Jewellery Industry Association held a tree planting drive on July 21 at the two local Special Economic Zones to promote sustainability among jewellery manufacturers.
The Sitapura Gems and Jewellery Industry Association’s tree plantation campaign encouraged each worker from each jewellery factory in the area to plant at least one tree in the surrounding jewellery manufacturing zones. The initiative aimed to promote sustainability and community in the jewellery hub, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council announced on its website.
The event on Wednesday was attended by chief guest and local MLS from the Sanganer Vidhan Sabha area, Ashok Lahoti. Other guests included Amrapali Jewels director, Rajiv Arora, and deputy mayor of Jaipur Nagar Nigam, Puneet Karnawat. Guests planted trees in the garden area of SEZ 2, which includes numerous industries, but specialises in jewellery manufacturing.
The Sitapura Gems and Jewellery Industry Association also recently partnered with the GJEPC to hold a Covid-19 vaccination drive with the help of the Rajasthan State Government. The drive vaccinated over 700 employees at Derewala Industries Ltd. with help from Mahatama Gandhi Hospital in Jaipur, the business announced on Facebook.
