Siddartha Tytler presents collection on LMIFW last day

On March 16, Siddartha Tytler showed a dark and romantic collection entitled "Shadow" at the autumn/ winter 2019 edition of Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week. Jim Sarbh was the collection’s showstopper.

“Shadow” was a dark and romantic collection that took its inspiration from the 1980s and Victorian gothic style. Black was the dominant hue with hints of a metallic sheen and midnight blue adding depth and the menswear and womenswear collection was full of drama yet still wearable.

Models had Victorian-esque sculpted buns or pompadours and dark lips whilst the male models wore their hair loose for a bohemian look. Any historical style references were kept modern by Tytler’s use of textiles including fine mesh and pleather along with the female model’s strapping sandles and patent boots.

Siddartha Tytler launched his eponymous brand in 2002 and specialises in both western ready-to-wear and Indian traditional wear. The brand is available internationally on a number of multi-brand online boutiques including Pernia’s Pop-Up-Shop and Strands of Silk.

LMIFW ran at the Jawaharlal Stadium in New Delhi from March 13 to 16 and was organised by the Fashion Design Council of India. The biannual event also featured a Designer Showroom sale from March 17 to 18.
