Siddartha Tytler’s latest collection debuted on the runway on March 27 as the designer returned to physical fashion shows for the first time since the pandemic began. Tytler’s return to the runway was both bold and beautiful as he dressed models in sculptural gowns, dramatic swathes of tulle, and androgynous ensembles.

Some male models wore full skirts and veils while others wore barely anything. For womenswear, gowns dominated with skin-tight looks contrasting diaphanous, floor-length gowns. The collection had a dark colour palette to add to the glamorous aesthetic and the avant-garde makeup and piercings added a futuristic edge.

Actors Aditya Seal and Neha Singh turned showstoppers for Siddartha Tytler this season and accompanied the designer on the runway to close the show. Seal wore a traditional-style black set with glittering deep blue details and three nose rings and Singh wore a dramatic gold ensemble featuring a ruffled bolero, crop top, and pencil skirt with a thigh-high slit.

The first physical edition of the joint FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week ran from March 23 to 27 at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium at India Gate in New Delhi. The runway shows were broadcast live on the organisers’ respective websites and social media accounts this season and a range of designers retailed their wares at the fashion week’s designer showroom segment.
