The new business aims to follow an omni-channel approach to retail and focus on the Kolkata area, TNN reported. So far, Daylis has opened two stores in Kolkata and plans to launch five additional stores in the city over the coming six months. The stores retail a range of personal care goods, pharmaceuticals, and groceries.

The business plans to follow a ‘phygital’ approach to retail and blend online and offline elements to harness technology and create a seamless retail experience. It also aims to follow a sustainable approach and is investing in electric vehicles to use for its deliveries.

“Till now, we have invested around Rs 3 crore [$451,000] to Rs 4 crore for this new project,” Daylis’ managing director and CEO Saksham Mohta told the Times of India. “In the next two years, we are planning to shell out Rs 10 crore to Rs 15 crore further for business expansion, depending upon response from the market. We are also keen on expanding our footprints in the districts of Bengal.”
