“Our principles of zero harm, resource efficiency, minimising our ecological footprint, care for the community and our personnel ensures we never compromise on our sustainable practices,” the business said in a statement, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council reported on its website.

The business showcased a number of its sustainable initiatives at its booth at Gem Genève. The business created a 360-degree virtual reality experience to show visitors the stages of diamond crafting at its eco-friendly buildings in diamond hub Surat.

Shree Ramkrishna Exports recently partnered with Global Network for Zero and committed to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2024. This was one of the main themes at the Swiss trade show, which ran from November 3 to 6. “Being in the diamond industry and a top exporter, we felt it is our responsibility to take some action faster and set an example,” said the business.

Gem Genève brings together diamond and gemstone businesses from around the world and is an opportunity for business-to-business networking as well as knowledge sharing. Shree Ramkrishna Exports reported particularly strong interest in emerald shaped and oval shaped diamonds at the trade show. “The vibes one gets here is all positive,” said the business.
