Shopr.TV raises $1.7 million from Beenext, Y-Combinator, others

Live-commerce start-up Shopr.TV has raised $1.7 million (Rs 14 crore) seed funding from Beenext, Y-Combinator, Locus Ventures, Shiprocket, Goodwater Capital, and more.

Angel investors Kunal Shah, Lalit Keshre, and Venky Karnam also participated in the funding round. The company plans to utilise the funds to improve its technology, product, and team.

Commenting on the funding, Akhil Suhag, co-founder CEO of Shopr.TV in a statement said, “Live commerce is the natural next step in the evolution of e-commerce, and it has the potential to revolutionise the entire consumer experience. There is a refined layer of accessibility, credibility, and reliability that live-commerce brings to the online buyer-seller relationship. We have the right product, the right team, an enthusiastic market, and now the perfect partners who share our vision of transforming the way India shops."

Founded in 2021 by Akhil Suhag, Akshay Suhag, Mukul Anand, and Tushar Dhara, Shopr.TV aims to address Gen-Z’s increasing appetite for live-commerce in India.

Currently, Shopr.TV hosts over a hundred sellers, offering products from fashion apparel, beauty products, jewellery, cosmetics among many others.
