Shoppers Stop strengthens retail presence in Kolkata with new store

Fashion and beauty retailer Shoppers Stop Ltd has strengthened its retail presence in the eastern region of India with the launch of a new store in the city of Kolkata.

The new store is in New Town, near Bangla Biswa gate, Rajarhat and is the brand’s seventh store in Kolkata. It was inaugurated by singer & director- Anindya Bose and RJ Manali.

Kolkata’s new Shoppers stop is spread across an area of 21,000 sq ft and houses over 500 international, national, and exclusive brands spread across multiple categories.

Commenting on the expansion, Venu Nair, managing director CEO of Shoppers Stop Limited in a statement said, “With yet another immersive store for our customers, we are happy to advance our retail experience to the people of Kolkata. The multi-level store in New Town, is a milestone in our growth agenda for the region.”

“The Shoppers Stop store has a large and diverse selection to meet the needs of all different types of consumers and occasions. Our brand's main values have always been innovation, elegance, and comfort. At Shoppers Stop, we put a lot of effort into meeting the expectations of the modern-day Indian customer,” he added.

Shoppers Stop has been on an expansion spree off late and plans to open 12 to 15 stores during the year, with 6 stores to be opened in October and November.
