Shoppers Stop opens 10th department store in Mumbai

Multi-brand fashion and lifestyle retailer Shoppers Stop opened its 10th department store in Mumbai in Seawoods Grand Central Mall, New Mumbai.

The new 15,000 square foot Shoppers Stop store opened its doors on November 30 in Seawoods Grand Central Mall. The store has dedicated sections for apparel, cosmetics, accessories, and homeware. TV actress Dipika Kakar Ibrahim attended the store opening and took the occasion to hold a meet and greet with fans in-store. 

“The Company aspires to be an omni-channel online leader in the fashion and beauty offerings through a strong footprint backed by technology innovations,” Shoppers Stop’s customer care associate, chief of marketing, and customer officer Uma Talreja said in the business’ press release. “We have two existing stores in New Mumbai and to cater to the evolving needs of our customers in the nearby vicinity, the third store is opened as a boutique store at Seawoods.” 

As part of its omni-channel strategy, Shoppers Stop is focusing on customer experience for its brick-and-mortar outlets to provide offline-only experiences. “We need stores closer to where people hang out to spend more time and money on experiences and premium offerings,” said Talreja.

Shoppers Stop has a 85 department stores in 40 cities across India as well as a dedicated e-commerce store. The business first launched in 1991 and today retails over 600 Indian and international brands.
