Shoppers Stop expands retail footprint in Hyderabad

Fashion retail chain Shoppers Stop Limited has strengthened its retail footprint in the city of Hyderabad with the opening of its sixth store at Sarath City Capital Mall.

The new store is spread over an area of 30,000 square feet, and will house more than 200 brands including MAC, Clinique, Kiko Milano, Bvlgari, and Armani, among many others.
 
Shoppers Stop will also be opening four stores at the Hyderabad airport in the coming months. The company has planned 50 stores all over India this year, including 12 department stores, eight airport stores and 30 beauty stores.

“The new store opened in the Mall is designed to give an international and global experience to our customers in Hyderabad and this marks our 90th store in the country. This store has a personal shopper service, which is one-of-its-kind in India,” in a statement said Rajiv Suri, managing director and CEO of Shoppers Stop.
 
“We have been evolving our store design and format to make it more relevant to the times, and to the catchment and are seeing early success in curating the offering. This is helping us penetrate neighbourhoods faster and more effectively, thus providing a delightful shopping experience every time,” he added.
 
For the December quarter, Shoppers Stop Ltd had reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 7 crore ($1 million) on a revenue of Rs 1,026 crore.
