Shoppers Stop launches talent show for makeup artists

Fashion and lifestyle business Shoppers Stop has launched an online makeup talent show, in collaboration with Bollywood celebrity Malaika Arora, and makeup artist Daniel Bauer.

Shoppers Stop has launched EyeStoppers 2020, as a digital talent contest for aspiring makeup artists, the business announced in a press release. With people wearing face masks, eye makeup has taken over lipsticks, in terms of makeup sales, with eye products seeing 27% growth on Shoppers Stop. To respond to this trend, the business has launched a contest focused on eye makeup. 
 
The contest runs from October 2 to 5, and celebrity partners Arora and Bauer will judge the contestants’ makeup looks. The business has also partnered with influencers Aashna Shroff, Benafsha Soonawala, Prakriti Kakar, Sukriti Kakar, and Sushant Divgikar, who will assist the judges. The winners will have their work featured online.

“Over the years, we have curated and launched the best of beauty experiences from both international and domestic leaders in this category,” said Shoppers Stop’s customer care associate, chief marketing and customer officer, Uma Talreja, in a press release.

“Established international brands like M.A.C Cosmetics, Clinique, Smashbox and many more have chosen Shoppers Stop as their retail partner in India. Beauty is a very important category for our consumers with more than 50% of women.”

“Professional makeup artists from all over India can participate and showcase their unique, out-of-the-box looks.”
