Multi-brand fashion and lifestyle retailer Shopper’s Stop has seen its brick-and-mortar footfalls recover to pre-Covid levels and is confident of continued growth, bolstered by omni-channel expansion.

“Overall the footfalls have come back to the pre-Covid levels and are strong since the last two months and we expect it to continue,” Shopper’s Stop’s CEO and managing director Venu Nair told the Press Trust of India at the Retail Leadership Summit. “We are expecting the industry to witness lower double-digit growth or high single-digit growth this financial year.”

This financial year, Shopper’s Stop has aggressive expansion plans and aims to open a total of 15 department stores and 20 beauty stores across India.

“Store expansion is an important strategic pillar to drive our growth,” said Nair. “And that's something which we will continue to focus on.”

The business is also on the lookout for new brands to partner with, especially domestic fashion and beauty brands. As Shopper’s Stop’s online platform is growing at a faster rate than its offline operations, the business will launch a number of brands online first before later incorporating them into their brick-and-mortar stores when there is ample space to do so.
