Shopg to enter over 300 Indian cities in three years

E-commerce business Shopg plans to increase its presence in over 300 Indian cities over the coming three years by increasing its number of partners.

Shopg plans to focus its expansion on tier 3 and 4 locations in cities including Mandya, Shimoga, Tiruppur, Salem, Tirunelveli, Kollam, Parbhani, Junagarh, and Akola, among others, in the states of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh.
 
“Shopg plans to acquire a consumer base of 40 million served by five lakh community leaders by 2025,” said Shopg’s co-founder Ankur Arora, the Economic Times reported.

“The company's vision is to address the unfulfilled aspirations of customers and thereby, build a GMV of Rs 4,000 crore as ShopG expands to 300-plus cities across India.”
 
The business also aims to reach wider customer demographics by expanding its language features. Currently available in Hindi, English, and Kannada, Shopg plans to launch its platform in over 12 languages in the coming year. This will help the business to reach customers in the growing rural e-commerce market that it plans to expand into. 
 
Shopg retails a multi-brand selection of products including cosmetics, personal care goods, jewellery, kitchenware, and groceries, among others. Ankur Arora, Abhishek Mishra, Pranay Suwalka, and Yogesh Nehra founded the business in 2019 and have also begun to launch private label brands including skincare brand, Ohayo Natural. Shopg plans to launch 10 more brands by 2025.
