Shop Lune celebrates 10th birthday, expands fine jewellery offering

As Jewellery brand Shop Lune celebrates its tenth birthday, the brand has expanded its fine jewellery offering and is gearing up to launch a new brick-and-mortar store in Goa. 

Originally a specialist in brass and sterling silver jewellery, Shop Lune recently launched its Lune Fine line of 18 carat gold jewellery, the brand announced on Instagram. The line features celestially inspired necklaces, tactile bangles and ear cuffs, gemstone rings, and other fusion style septum rings and studs among other pieces. Along with the new line, the brand is constructing what will be its second retail space in the country in Goa.

“We work with smaller independent workshops, identify them and create a collection with them,” said Shop Lune’s creative director and founder Sreesha Shetty, Vogue India reported. “For example, our hoops and bangles are entirely made by a single workshop. Our gemstone collection is made by lapidary artists who’ve worked with gemstones for generations. We’re constantly experimenting. While we try to stay updated when it comes to technology in creating pieces. We are the only brand in the country that makes all our hoops and bangles without a mould. We sculpt all our hoops and bangles by hand and hammer, every single piece.” 

The brand works with around 250 artisans in workshops located across Jaipur, Goa, Delhi, and Mumbai to create its various collections. The brand also focuses on sourcing gemstones from local mines, such as a moonstone mine in Bihar, to support local industry. 

Sreesha Shetty launched Shop Luna in 2012, according to the brand’s Instagram page. Shop Lune currently retails from its dedicated e-commerce store and brick-and-mortar store in Bandra, Mumbai.
