Gurwitch’s absorption into Shiseido will allow Shiseido to utilize more effective management resources and strengthen the management system. The merger will also allow SAC to streamline its marketing and operations efforts.

Gurwitch Products was acquired by Shiseido in June of 2016 for an estimated $260 million. Under the Gurwitch’s brand umbrella include ReVive, a luxury skincare treatment label, and Laura Mercier, a make-up brand.

Just days ago, Shiseido appointed Alexandra Papazian as the General Manager of Laura Mercier, with Papazian soon-after announcing she will be narrowing in on increasing marketing efforts and international expansion for the company.

The merger was effective as of December 31, 2016.
