Shingora is an Indian luxury accessories brand with an Italian Creative and Design head and their new product line, printed twill silk scarves, just launched in their Indian boutiques.

Shingora's new line of printed twill silk scarves takes inspiration from Mumbai, Punjab, and trees of India - Shingora- Facebook

Marta Sant’Ambrogio, Creative and Design Head for India, said of the brand’s newest innovation: “These are a new category of printed twill silk squares with bespoke artworks, which we have introduced in India. I drew inspiration from my time in the country- the variety of trees I observed from my window during transit, the buzz I experienced at Mumbai’s railway stations and the water tanks near Shingora, headquarters in Punjab.”

The twill silk that Shingora is now using creates scarves that both have a smooth sheen and boast intricate and brightly coloured designs. One of the new twill silk scarf collections is entitled “Trees of India” and it includes different trees native to India mixed with traditional inspired patterns. Two other small collections have also been produced, “Victoria Terminus” inspired by the Mumbai railways and “Punjab Baroque” inspired by water tanks near the brand’s headquarters in Ludhiana, Punjab.

Shingora was launched over three decades ago by Mridula Jain and her scarves have gone from being handwoven to being produced by state of the art factory machines, although handmade scarves are still offered as a bespoke range. The brand has its own e-commerce site as well as boutiques in cities including Jammu, New Delhi, Panipat, and Varanasi.
